Dutching Calc

Once you have progressed past the initial ‘Welcome’ bonuses, the dutching calculator will become one of your most-used tools on Bonusbank.

The calculator is easy to use, but when you first open it it may seem a bit intimidating. In this tutorial we are going to take a look at all of the different functions…

#1 Calculator Mode

We have two variations of the dutching calculator – the 2-way dutch and the 3-way dutch.

A common misconception is that you need to switch to 3-way mode if you are dutching with three bookies, but that is not how it works. You can easily use three (or more) bookies in the 2-way mode.

The mode actually refers to the number of potential outcomes there are.

For example, a match odds bet on AFL has two potential outcomes (Team A wins or Team B wins), so you would use 2-way mode for that dutch.

A soccer match, on the other hand, has three potential outcomes (Team A wins, Team B wins, or it is a draw), so in that situation we would switch to 3-way mode.

#2 Team Names

This is an editable field. You can add in the team names so that you don’t accidentally place a bet on the wrong side.

Adding the names also has another advantage which will become clear when we reach #11

#3 Bookie Dropdown

Select the name of the bookie that you are placing the bet with

#4 Stake

Enter the back stake for the first bet in your dutch. Usually this amount will be determined by the maximum stake of a promo, or the amount that you have to turnover to make a withdrawal etc.

#5 Odds

Enter the odds for the bet on Team A. You can then check the second bookie in your dutch and also add the odds for Team B.

Once you have done that, some more info will become available…

#6 Best Available Odds

The best available odds field will auto-populate with the highest odds entered for that team. If there is another bookie that has higher odds you can over-write this field by un-ticking the box.

#7 Equalising Stake

The calculator will work out how much you have to bet, and on which team, in order to have an equal return no matter the outcome of the event. We recommend rounding stakes to the nearest $5 if possible.

Once we follow the calcs advice we get an (almost) equal outcome on each team…

#8 Add/Remove Rows

If there are a lot of available promos on a match we may want to have a dutch that includes multiple bookies. During AFL and NRL season it is not uncommon to have 8 or more bookies in a single dutch.

To do this, we can click on the green + sign to add more rows to the calculator. If we want to remove a row we can just click on the red – sign.

#9 SNR Function

If you want to maximise your return from SNR bonus bets dutching isn’t the most efficient method. You will almost always get higher returns using a ‘back & lay’ approach.

However, dutching your bonus does have the advantage that you can use the other side of the dutch as a mug bet, or to try to qualify for another bonus.

If you plan on using an SNR bonus in your dutch, make sure you tick the box so that your potential returns are accurate.

#10 Generate URL

This is a handy feature that you can use to share your dutches (maybe to ask for advice on Discord), or to save them for later.

When you click the button a new field will appear with a URL that you can copy.

If you paste the generated URL into your browser it will open up the dutching calculator with the fields already filled in.
