Arbitrage betting: profit from bookies who disagree
Bookies don’t always agree on the odds. When their prices differ enough, you can back every outcome across two bookies and profit whichever side wins. No promos needed, so it works on any account, any day.

How an arb works
Every bookie sets its own prices. Most of the time they’re close, but on busy weekends and in smaller markets like lines, totals and player props, they drift apart. An arb is what you get when they drift far enough.
- Spot the gapOne bookie has Team A at a high price, another has Team B at a high price, and together they add up to less than 100 percent.
- Split your stakeStake more on the shorter price and less on the longer one, so you get the same return whichever side wins.
- Place both betsGet both bets on quickly, before either price moves.
- Collect either wayOne bet loses, the other wins more than both stakes combined.
A worked example with real numbers
A head-to-head market with two outcomes. Bookie A has Team A at 2.10. Bookie B has Team B at 2.05. You have $200 to use.
The bets
| Team A at Bookie A, odds 2.10 | $99.00 |
| Team B at Bookie B, odds 2.05 | $101.00 |
| Total staked | $200.00 |
The outcomes
| Team A wins: $99 x 2.10 returns | $207.90 |
| Profit if Team A wins | +$7.90 |
| Team B wins: $101 x 2.05 returns | $207.05 |
| Profit if Team B wins | +$7.05 |
Example odds only. The stakes are rounded to whole dollars, which looks more natural to bookies and costs less than a dollar in profit. With both bets placed at these prices, the result can’t lose, which is what makes an arb risk-free. The part to manage is speed: prices move, so place both bets before either one changes.
Check an arb yourself

Finding arbs by hand is the hard part
An arb can last minutes. Checking dozens of bookies across thousands of markets yourself isn’t realistic.

Is arbitrage betting legal in Australia?
Yes. You’re placing ordinary bets with licensed bookmakers. Some bookmakers’ terms don’t allow it, and they can limit an account they don’t want, which is why how you arb matters as much as finding the arbs.
How much can I make from arbing?
Most arbs return 1 to 5 percent of the total stake. The example above made $7.05 or more from $200. The profit comes from volume: arbs turn up every day, and each one takes a minute or two to place once the software has found it.
Will bookies limit my account?
Heavy, obvious arbing gets noticed. Round your stakes, mix in normal bets and spread your action across bookies, and your accounts last much longer. Arbing also works on accounts that no longer get promos, so it’s a natural next step once you’ve worked through the welcome bonuses.
Do I need a Betfair account?
Not for bookie-to-bookie arbs, which is what the Dutching software finds. The ATM finds arbs against Betfair, so a Betfair account gives you more opportunities.
Which plan do I need?
Arbs appear on every paid tier of the Dutching software. They’re most common in the lines, totals and player markets included in Pro, and Pro also gets the Discord value bot, which posts arbs as well as +EV bets.
